Rick Perry “the most pro-life governor in the United States of America right now”

Rick Perry “the most pro-life governor in the United States of America right now,” proudly states the pastor Robert Jeffress.  He introduced Perry at the Values Voter Summit last night.  If you check out Perry’s website it appears his main focus is on restoring the economy and helping people to get jobs.  His “issues” weren’t abortion or homosexuality.  Instead he’s a little more subtle and his tagline is “Rick Perry Champion of Conservative Principles”.

“Jeffress brought audience members to their feet when he said that Perry stood up “to defund that slaughterhouse for the unborn, known as Planned Parenthood.”

Now, having been a patient and an employee of Planned Parenthood I am appalled by this statement.  And as an informed feminist I’m going to call this statement for what it is-BULLSHIT.  Bullshit plain and simple.  Why are these white men trying to control women’s bodies?  Why should they have power over what a person, particulary a woman can do with her body?  How would they like it if laws were being made about what they could do with their bodies?

The reason these men want power over women’s bodies is because they want to control women with fear.  They are trying to make women “behave” according to their standards.  Their standards consist of only married, heterosexual sex.  Who cares if you have 6 kids? They are hoping you will eventually be so tired because you have 6 kids you won’t have the time or energy for sex anymore, which is how you will prevent further pregnancies.  Or maybe at this point your uterus has fallen out of your vagina and you won’t be able to carry any more pregnancies (I’m not even joking about this).

Another reason these men don’t want women having abortions is because they want “brown” babies.  These white men need “brown” babies to grow up and fight their wars for them.  They want these “brown” babies to grow up and then be imprisoned so they can still have slaves to perform free labor.

I’ll leave you with the wise words of George Carlin to consider.
